Review: LORAC Altar Ego Lipstick Set @ Kohls

Woo Hoo! I just love Kohls Cash, dont you? If you're not on the Kohl's train, you need to hop aboard, because I just bought this $35 lipstick set for $15 because I had $20 in Kohls Cash.

Okay, okay... I bought it like two weeks ago...

Anyway, this lipstick set is an $80 value. Each Altar Ego lipstick is $16 a piece. The lipsticks in this set are FULL SIZE and it's only $35 regular price. If you buy it full price, it's already a steal. If you do what I did and use Kohls cash, well, I basically bought 1 and got 4 free.

Okay, time to get down to business! In this set are five colors, shown below:

All are VERY PIGMENTED and are between a matte and satin finish. I think they're supposed to be more matte, but I keep lip balm on my lips, so they felt a little more creamy than when I swatched on my hand when I first purchased them. I LOVE THESE LIPSTICKS. Now, onto the different colors. Let's go! (And please disregard my face in these pictures. I have had a cold, and am looking a little rough.)

SEDUCTRESS:

This color is a rose-colored hue. Definitely a more natural looking pink color. I could see this being a good color for all skin tones.

DUCHESS:

This color is describes by LORAC as a "rosy nude". I agree with that, but i'd say its definitely more on the nude side than the rosy side. I was worried that this one would be too light for my very fair skin, but I was pleasently surprised, and have been wearing this color a lot.

VIXEN:

This is a hot pink/fuchsia color. This is the only color that I cannot find on LORAC's website. Not sure if you can find it at Ulta or any other store, but so far, I have only seen this one in the set. This is a bright color, perfect for spring and summer, and again, great for all skin tones.

CEO:

MY FAVORITE OF THEM ALL!! CEO is a dusty rose color. I feel like this is the color of my natural lips, but better. It's nude, but packs a bit of a punch compared to other nudes. If you get no other colors in these lipsticks, get this one!

GODDESS:

Okay, this lipstick is PURPLE. There's no tip-toeing around it. LORAC calls it plum... that's a lie. It's just straight-up purple. I LOVE the color, unfortunately, it doesn't love me. The picture I took of my lips do not do this color justice. I promise you, it looks more purple in person. Like I said, I think it's beautiful, and if you love purple lipsticks, this is a great one. It's just not good for my skin tone. I'm going to save it though, and hope that when I get a bit of a tan, it may look better.

So that's it! I would highly recommend these lipsticks in any color your heart desires. You cannot deny the fact that buying them in this set is a great deal. If you enjoy most of these colors, it's well worth your money to purchase this at Kohls.
