Why I Don't Buy the Newest, Buzzworthy Palettes

I didn't buy the Becca x Jaclyn Hill Face Palette. I know. I'm a terrible beauty blogger.

I didn't buy the Sweet Peach Palette either.

"What?? I thought everyone had those! Whitney, what are you doing with your life??"

I'll be honest, at first, I thought I wanted them both. Why did I want them? Well, it certainly wasn't because I liked either of them. I had never seen either of them in person. So what was my deal? Why did I spend hours looking at videos and blog posts, waiting until late at night or early in the afternoon to snatch up the Sweet Peach Palette as soon as it was released?

Simple... everyone else did.

But the moment I waited for the Sweet Peach Palette twice, only for the site to crash and them to be sold out when the site came back up, I decided I wasn't doing that anymore. I was upset I had not got my greedy little hands on that palette twice, so I began looking for ways to make myself feel better about it. I looked at videos, blogs, swatches, and I realized I actually didn't even like it in the first place. Then I felt stupid.

I very nearly wasted $49 on something I would have never used for the sake of keeping up with other beauty bloggers. So that I could review the same thing 500 other people were reviewing, and then never touch it again.

So when it was announced that Becca and Jaclyn Hill were teaming up for another limited edition palette, I almost lost my mind again. Everyone was talking about it. But I remembered what happened with the Peach Palette. So I did my research, and I determined that the palette just wasn't right for me. Truth be told, I'm not overly fond of Becca's glittery highlights anyway. (GASP, right?)

The truth of the matter is, I buy every bit of makeup I buy on my own. I work a full time job, and blogging is very much a part time hobby at this point. I have bills.

The truth of the matter is, I don't have $49 or $52 to spend all willy-nilly on a palette I'm never going to use.

I'm passionate about makeup, I'm passionate about having a successful blog, instagram, and eventually... YouTube channel.

But the truth of the matter is, I don't want to be just like every other beauty blogger out there.

I want to tell you all about the makeup that people don't talk about. I want to tell you about the hidden gems.

So stay tuned... because these blogs and a new YouTube channel are coming your way, much more often, and I'm on the hunt for the least talked about things out there. And I hope that you're going to like what I have to say.

Word to the wise: don't spend your hard-earned money on every buzz worthy makeup product because someone told you to. Don't even buy what I tell you about without doing your research and figuring out if you like it first. Trust me. Your wallet and conscience will thank you later!
